PT Medco Resources, a subsidiary of PT Medco Energi Internasional tbk said it has reached a principle agreement with PT Harum Energy Tbk, a coal producer, to jointly build a coal-fired power plant in West Java.

Vice President Industrial estate and Power Generation of PT Medco Resources Bambang Triharyono was quoted by Kontan daily that both parties aim to build a 2000 MW (2×1000 MW) of coal fired power plant, pending on approval from the government.
