Indonesia’s state-owned aluminium producer PT Inalum will cut production to 202,000 tonnes in 2015 from a capacity of 250,000 tonnes, an official with direct knowledge of the matter said, as some of the firm’s power is to be diverted to meet public needs.
“Around 210 megawatts of our power will be given to PLN from April this year,” the official, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter, told Reuters. PLN is Indonesia’s state-owned electricity utility, Perusahaan Listrik Negara.
