The Indonesian government is optimistic that the building of power plant projects with combined capacity of 35,000 megawatts (MW) will be completed in five years.
“There is no more doubt about it,” Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said said on Saturday .
The 35,000 MW target had been initiated by President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo who has a strong ambition to provide sufficient electricity to the whole nation in the shortest time possible.
Minister Sudirman, speaking to reporters during his visit to Palembang (South Sumatra), said that about 50 percent of the power projects, with combined capacity of 70,000 MW, are being built.
