The seventh power station of Electric Power Development Company of Japan (J-POWER) in Thailand was put into operation on October 1, which is the combined heat and power generation developed for the feed-in tariff and guarantee system for the country's small-scale producers (Small Power Producers, referred to as the SPP plan) . This station will sale electrical power to the power company in Thailand in the next 25 years. So far, 7 items of SPP business of J-POWER plan have been put into operation.
SPP is the long term feed-in tariff established for reducing oil imports and application amount. The power company in Thailand ensures the acquisition of 90,000 kilowatts at most. The power station started this time is “NK2 cogeneration power station in Saraburi”, which is located in Saraburi in central Thailand, to the north of Bangkok, the output power of this power plant is 120,000 kilowatts. This power plant was developed by GulfJPNK2 company 90% Funded by the J-POWER .
As a new business plan in Thailand , J-POWER promoted the SPP business in Thailand and in January to July this year, it started six cogeneration power plants with output power of 110,000 to 120,000 kilowatts and the power station sold electric power and steam to the common users nearby.
J-POWER also plans to conduct independent power business (IPP) in Thailand and are developing the gas turbine combined cycle power plant with power of 1.6 million kilowatts in Ayutthaya to the north of Saraburi and Bangkok. After NK2 cogeneration power plant in Saraburi started, the overseas power generation business that J-POWER has participated in totally reached 35 items, with a total power output of about 17.9 million kilowatts, and holding share up to 4.64 million kilowatts.
