What is the definition of electrical energy?

Electrical energy describes the energy that charged particles store inside an electric field. There are many different forms of energy and people use multiple forms each day.

An electrical field is the space that surrounds a charged particle. This space helps the particle to work by applying force to it. Potential energy is a system or body's electrical energy relative to how particles arranged around a system or relative to the position of the body. For example, a boulder on a tall hill has a high level of energy due to the potential for it to roll down.
