1. The electrodeto be used shall be carefully selected, its insulation resistance shall be more than 20 m Ω. 

2. The electrode shall be put into operation along with the startup of the boiler as far as possible, in order to achieve the purpose of slowly warming. 

3. When the electrode is replaced during operation, tightly close the steam-water valve and open the blow down valve to drain the water in the container, after the pressure of the water level container is released, the disassembly and assembly can be done. 

4. When the water gauge is started again after the electrode is replaced or stopped, it is required firstly open the valve of blowdown, then slowly open the steam-water valve and slowly close the blowdown valve, to put the instrument into operation. 

5. When the electrode is disassembled or assembled, it shall not be rapped. Attention shall be paid when it is installed, the screw thread and the joint face shall be in good condition and vertical. When the screw thread is screwed to the contact, it shall be painted with molybdenum disulfide or lead oil.
