Measurement Method for Performance of Emulsion Resistance of Petroleum and Synthetic Fluid

1. Start the power supply of host computer, and enter into the menu of “Selection of Working Mode” according to the “Usage” in Chapter 5. With the reference of the above two national standards and different samples, select suitable temperature and standing time. (Start→“Confirm”→Press “△”or “∨”→“Confirm”).

2. Select the standing time, press “Confirm” key, and the instrument will enter the state of temperature rise immediately. 

3. Use industrial gasoline, petroleum ether, ethanol to clean the stirring blade successively. 

4. Use chromic acid wash, tap water, distilled water to clean measuring cylinder until the water is shown as litmusless, and there is no drop of water on the inwall of measuring cylinder.

5. Procedures for analysis

(1)Pour 40ml of distilled water, then pour 40ml of sample into the clean measuring cylinder slowly under room temperature until the scale mark 80ml of measuring cylinder. 

(2) After the water bath temperature is stable to be ±1℃ of the set value, put the measuring cylinder on Place “1” of test tube holder and rotate the test tube holder. With reference to Step 7 of Instrument Installation in the Section 2, Chapter 5 of this book, adjust the corresponding location of blade and test tube properly. 

(3) Press “Confirm” key, and stirring devices will sink to the bottom of test tube immediately, and the instrument times with the set standing time at the same time. The displayer shows. 

(4) At the arrival of the standing time, the electrical stirring machine starts automatically, and stirring blade begins to stir. 

(5) Stop to stir after 5 minutes, meanwhile the lifting motor starts moving, the stirring blade goes up automatically, the sample begins to be separated, and displayer shows.

(6) The operator can use glass to scrape the oil on stirring blade into the measuring cylinder in accordance with the stipulation of international method. Meanwhile, pay attention to observe the separation situation of sample. Then pour another sample according to the above method and put it into Test Tube “2”, rotate test tube holder lightly to make “2” align at stirring blade, so that the test for the second sample can be carried out. 

(7) If it is time for sample separation, by pressing “△”or“∨” key, move the cursor   to the sample in this group and press the “Confirm” key, so that the separation situation of sample can be locked.
