Function of high voltage isolating switch:  

Isolation voltage of high voltage isolation switch: Isolating the electrical equipment from the electric grid, to ensure the isoloated electrical equipment has obvious disconnect point andcan be maintained safely. 

Rearrangement of bus bar: In double busbar, the rearrangement of busbar refers to switching one the equipment or circuit from one group of busbar to the other busbar group on the bus. 

Switch on or off the power circuit: According to the specification, switch on and off the circuit. 

Switch on and off the voltage transformer and  arrester circuit The switching on and off the no-load overhead line with voltage of 10 kv, and length of 10 km , or the no-load cable line of voltage of 10 kv and length of 5km. 

Switch on and off the no-load transformer with voltage under 10 kV and with capacity below 315 kva and with excitation current below 2A. 

Match and use the high pressure isolating switch with the high voltage circuit breaker. Match the isolating switch with high voltage circuit breaker. 

When the load is switched on ,firstly switch on the isolating switch SQ1 at busbar side, then switch on the isolating switch SQ2 at load side, al last switch on the breaker QF. When switching off the breaker QF, then switch off the isolating SQ2 at the load side, at last switch on the isolating switch SQ1 at busbar side. The sequences absolutly must not be wrong. 

High voltage isolation switch type:  According to the erection location, the high voltage isolation switch types can be divided into indoor type and outdoor type two kinds; according to a grounding knife, they can be divided into the types with and without earthing grounding knife. The types of high voltage isolation are composed of letters and numbers.
