The circulating water pump consists of impeller or vane, shell (plastics or metal) filter screen or cover. The cooling water pump of motor (DC or AC) automobile is driven by the transmission shaft. 

For the shape, they can be classified into vertical type and horizontal type; from the use, they can be classified into high lift with small flow and low lift with large flow, etc.
