The Finance Ministry under Bambang Brodjonegoro is ultimately responsible for guaranteeing the electrification expansion projects of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry and state-owned PLN, getting to Indonesia’s 35Gw proposed expansion from 2016-2019. The expansion is bifurcated into two levels: Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and PLN, with the IPPs expected to contribute upward of 25Gw toward the overall electrification expansion.
